Sorin’s schooldays began at St Mary’s on Rathlin Island. This lovely girl describes life on Rathlin as being at a slower pace, but says that it is a brilliant place in which to grow up. She has become more aware of the importance of environmental protection - particularly wildlife. She has two younger sisters and three dogs. Sorin keeps fit by attending the gym, and she also enjoys listening to music. Family holidays abroad have instilled an interest in travel; she wants to continue her experiences of other cultures and traditions. When deciding on a secondary school, there was no decision to be made! Her memories of visiting CPC were that it was so warm and welcoming, the pupils had so much respect for their school and were proud of it. Sorin loves her school community; there are opportunities for everyone and your voice gets listened to. She also has positive memories of lockdown learning, and enjoyed the live history classes when she was in KS3. Her favourite subjects are business studies, geography and biology. Sorin wants to go to university and study a degree in a business-related discipline. With her positive attitude and commitment, and her indisputable academic work ethic, Sorin will absolutely realise her dream. In a nutshell, Sorin describes CPC as a community; one which celebrates difference.
