The recent inspection in Cross and Passion was a great success, with the Education and Training Inspectorate team reporting very impressive strengths and successes which the whole school community can be very proud of. The ‘stars’ of the inspection were the pupils who throughout the entire week impressed with their outstanding attitudes to learning and achievement, their behaviour, courtesy and manners and maturity. The team also noted their ability to engage fully and enthusiastically in every lesson which the inspectors observed.

The full inspection report can be accessed on the DE website and we invite all pupils and friends of the school to read it and share the schools success.

Mrs Ward has expressed her delight about the outcome noting particular the very positive reports about achievements and standards in all aspects of school life including English and Mathematics. Extract from the report

The quality of the arrangements for pastoral care in the school is outstanding. The school’s mission statement “for all pupils to develop their unique talents in a positive, challenging and caring learning environment learning“ pervades the life and work of the school. All of the staff are highly committed to the academic and pastoral needs of pupils and there are excellent relationships at all levels throughout the school. A key strength of the pastoral provision is the highly effective use made of pupil consultation to inform and enrich the pupils’ experiences which include the outstanding, rich and diverse extra-curricular programme.

Mrs Ward has congratulated all of the staff and pupils in the school for the contribution which they have made to making Cross and Passion ‘Very Good’ in all areas and for a report where there are no areas for improvement. She also added that the school will continue to be one which is total committed to getting the best for and from every young person who attends the school as well as a school which will continue to strive to be at the cutting edge of education in Northern Ireland.
